Lacrosse is a sport that originally began with indigenous people in North America around the 12th century. Lacrosse is an all-around contact sport with athletes running distances of varying lengths depending on positions while holding a stick. Equipment required includes a helmet, chest and shoulder pads, elbow pads and padded gloves. Each team typically has 10 players on the field at one time and plays on a field like a soccer or football field in size; but, younger players may play on a smaller field and have less people on the field depending on the age group. We currently have 4 divisions that may have more than one team depending on participants; this includes a U-8 division, U-10 division, U-12 division and a U-14 division. CGTYL currently only has a men’s division; women are allowed to play in the men’s league. Women’s lacrosse has different requirements and rules that are quite different than Men’s rules. We are currently looking into forming a women’s division; however, we may partner with other leagues to create women’s teams. If you have any questions about our organization, please feel free to reach out to our board of directors who can assist any questions you might have.
CGTYL has won many tournaments, most recently; 2022 & 2023 Spring Showdown Mini’s, Mini Mania 2023. Our Mini team went undefeated 16-0-1 in 2023. Minor’s won Spring Showdown in 2023 and our Major’s took Second Place in the Spring Showdown.
